Last night I went to see the latest Rowan Atkinson movie “Mr. Bean’s Holiday” and thoroughly enjoyed it! This movie takes Bean on a holiday (vacation for those of us in the US) from his home in England to France by train where as usual, there are a series of events that could cause him much embarrassment, but he is too oblivious to realize his predicament.
Even if you are not a fan of Mr. Bean and his antics, you will appreciate that the film makers achieved a “G” rating for a live action movie that did not include penguins. This is a throw back to the good old “Walt Disney” era live action movies that did not have to go for the cheap laugh just to get people in the seats. It is my hope that this is going to be a trend towards more wholesome entertainment choices in the future.
So pile the entire family into the car, drive to your local multi-plex and vote with your wallet by watching “Mr. Bean’s Holiday”.
